Real noob: How to reset the password

Hi! Sorry, I'm really not good with computer stuff, as my english as you will see.
So... my internet was slow and I reset my TL-wr740n router. But then, I realize that I didn't know how to reset my passeword!
I went to tplink.net, then in Wireless security. I follow those instructions: http://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-256.html. But after the reboot, my wifi was still accessible without the passeword.
So, what did I did wrong and how can I do it right?
