Need to Downgrade Deco X50 from 1.7.1 to 1.6.4 – Connection Preference Broken
Hello,
I have two Deco X50 units (let’s call them X and Y). On firmware 1.6.4, the Connection Preference feature worked perfectly. For example, if I set a device to always stay connected to Deco X, it would remain connected to X no matter what—even after reboots.
After upgrading to 1.7.1, this feature is broken. Even when I configure a device to always connect to Deco X, it still switches over to Deco Y. The exact same problem also existed in version 1.6.7, which is why I previously downgraded back to 1.6.4. On 1.6.4, the issue disappears and the feature works as expected.
Back then, I managed to downgrade by renaming the firmware file (for example giving it a higher version number) and uploading it via the web interface. That method no longer works—now, even if I rename the 1.6.4 file to something like 1.8.0, the system rejects it with the “old firmware” error.
So my main question is: How can I urgently downgrade back to 1.6.4 from 1.7.1? The current firmware breaks an important feature for me, and I really need a working method (even if it requires recovery mode).
Thank you in advance for any guidance.
