Model: TL-WPA1000 KIT
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

If i'm not mistaken, the AV2 standard supports MIMO or multiple wire-pair communication.

The ground connections in the wires will be leveraged to allow for higher communication bandwidth.

If no ground wires are present, communication will still work, but limited to a single live-to-neutral pair for communication (SISO).

I really wonder how a kit like the TL-WPA1000 can be advertised as "AV2 compatible" while there are literally no ground pins on the device itself?

I get that it's compatible, but you don't get the advantage that AV2 has to offer compared to AV at all.

If this is true, it would seem kinda scammy. Because let's be honest, they might as well call them AV adapters at that point.

I hope someone can prove me wrong or point out an oversight?

Hi,

Here is a link to the Homeplug AV2 specification:

https://docbox.etsi<dot>org/Reference/homeplug_av21/homeplug_av21_specification_final_public.pdf          (replace <dot> with . )

Just start reading from "Page 60 of 858" onward.
