Model: Deco BE25
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1017 Build 20250403 Rel. 13304

Hi,

My PC running Windows 11 will not connect to my home Wi-Fi on 5Ghz.

PC has an Intel AX201 160Mhz WI-FI adapter configured to connect using 802.11ax (have tried 802.11ac as well). Channel and channel width set to auto.

DECO BE25 is configured as an access point to an Archer  VX420-G2v (AX5400) Wi-Fi 6 router.

I can connect the PC to the router directly on 5Ghz.

I can connect the PC to the DECO BE25 in 2.4Ghz.

All other devices connect to DECO in 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz with no issue.

PC seems to connect to DECO (shows PC connected in DECO app), but is not obtaining IP/seeing gateway, so it shows "Wi-Fi connected no internet".

Occasionally it does connect for a short period obtaining an IP address from the gateway, but when I attempt to ping the gateway it timeout and loses Internet connection again.

I currently have the PC connected to the network via an Ethernet connection.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled PC wi-fi adapter drivers, power cycled router and DECO (leaving off over night), performed ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew. Nothing has worked so far.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Jonty

Do you know what driver version you have been trying for your network card? This was the latest one I found - WiFi-23.160.0-Driver64-Win10-Win11 - It was released in Aug 2025

If you were using an older version I would try that one and get back to us if it doesn't clear up the issue.

A few quick things you can try

Using Windows Troubleshooter

  1. Open the Start menu and select Settings.
  2. Go to Update & Security (or System in Windows 11).
  3. Select Troubleshoot and then Network adapters.
  4. Run the troubleshooter and restart your computer afterward.

Using Command Line Tools

  1. Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
  2. To flush the DNS cache, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
  3. To refresh network profiles, you can try running the command explorer.exe ms-availablenetworks: to open the list of available networks, which can force a re-scan.

Ensuring Network Services and Firewall are Correct

  1. Go to Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi.
  2. Check the status of your Wi-Fi card and ensure services like DNS Client and Function Discovery Resource Publication are running.
  3. Confirm that your firewall is not blocking Network Discovery in Windows Defender Firewall settings.

Only other thing I can think of off the top of my head is to turn off your firewall. Windows is annoying and a firewall can stop windows from detecting a new network,

@David-TP

Any ideas on this? I can't see it being the BE25 itself not providing internet on the 5 GHz band

  @HelpFixDecoApp

Hi, have you tried to add an IP address reservation profile on the VX420-G2v for this Windows 11 PC to see whether it made any difference?

It is also suggested to update Deco BE25 to the latest 1.1.0 firmware version first

Deco BE25(EU)_V1_1.1.0 Build 20250718

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

  @David-TP  and @HelpFixDecoApp

Thanks for your help.

I ended up installing a new wi-fi adapter in the PC and it seems to be working well.
