I have just bought this router (Archer GE550) and am already exasperated with it after just one day. The 6Ghz band continually disconnects all clients every hour for about 2 mins then reconnects again.Have tried all the suggestions without any change. The 5ghz band seems ok but the 6ghz is unusable.

 

 tI will be returning this router as it is nowhere near reliable enough for gaming with this continual disconnects.

Similar to the 5GHz band, the 6GHz signal has a relatively shorter range and can be more easily blocked by obstacles such as walls or furniture. This can sometimes lead to instability or frequent disconnections, especially if your device is farther from the router or there are obstructions in the way.

Here are some suggestions to help improve your 6GHz Wi-Fi stability:
1. Placement: Make sure your router is placed in an open area, away from large obstacles, and as close as possible to the devices using the 6GHz band.
2. Interference: Although 6GHz is less congested, other electronic devices or neighboring networks may still cause interference. Try changing the Wi-Fi channel in Advanced > Wireless > Wireless Settings.
3. Device Compatibility: Confirm that your devices fully support Wi-Fi 6E (6GHz) and have the latest drivers or system updates installed.
4. Band Selection: Consider using the 5GHz band for critical connections, as it offers a good balance between speed and stability.

Hi Joseph-TP The router is only 4 meters from the client with no walls or obstructions in between There is only 1 client which is a TP-Link BE9300 Wi-Fi 7 (Archer TBE550E) adapter so shouldn't be any compatibility problems. There is no logical reason to purchase a WiFi 7 router only to connect at 5Ghz. I may as well save the money and return the TP-Link WiFi 7 and go back tol my ASUS WiFi 6e router.

We understand your desire to restore stable 6 GHz operation, and we will do our best to help you identify the cause.

 

Do you have MLO enabled? If so, please temporarily disable MLO and connect to 6 GHz alone.

Do you have other 6 GHz-capable devices for comparison? In other words, if you connect other clients to the Archer GE550's 6 GHz connection, do you still experience 6 GHz disconnections?

You mentioned the ASUS router. Does it also support 6 GHz? If so, you can also compare the Archer TBE550BE's stability when connected directly to the ASUS router's 6 GHz connection.

Also, what is the driver version for the Archer TBE550BE?
