Model: PG2400P KIT
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.3 Build 20221213 Rel.62540

Hi,I was trying to upgrade the firmware of my PG2400P Powerline adapters. I successfully updated the unit with Wi-Fi, but the other unit always gives me the error message “Invalid file type.” when I select the same firmware file.

It’s strange because it’s exactly the same file I used to upgrade the Wi-Fi module without any issues. Could you please help me understand why this happens or provide the correct firmware for the non-Wi-Fi module?

Thank you for your help.

File I'm using: PGW2440 KIT(EU)_V1_1.0.4 Build 20240830 -> pgw2440v1_eu-up-ver1-0-4-P1-20240830-rel67970-APPLC

Unit with the error:

Unit successfuly upgraded:

I noticed that my two adapters have different model numbers — one is PG2400P and the other is PGW2440. I was able to successfully upgrade both units, but now I see that the Wi-Fi adapter (PGW2440) is running firmware version 1.0.4, while the Ethernet-only adapter (PG2400P) is on version 1.1.0.

Is this difference in firmware versions expected, or is there a more recent update available for the Wi-Fi unit that I might have missed?Thank you for your assistance

Hi,

It looks like you have the latest available firmware versions installed on each of the two devices.

You can view the PG2400P and the PGW2440 as two different separate products. The fact that they come bundled together in one box is mostly for the consumer's convenience and cost saving.
Theoretically you could even buy a "G.hn" Powerline adapter made by another manufacturer and it should be able to work together with the PG2400P and the PGW2440.
