Model: Archer C64
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.13.15 Build 240812 Rel.53634n(5553)

Dear TP-Link Community Support Team,

I am experiencing a persistent issue with the Guest Network functionality in my EasyMesh setup, which uses two TP-Link Archer C64 routers.

Setup Details:

  • Main Router: Archer C64 (Located on the roof/terrace)

  • Second Router (Mesh Node): Archer C64 (Connected via LAN cable as a backhaul, located in the hall downstairs)

  • Mesh Technology: EasyMesh is enabled and functioning (the secondary router is successfully acting as a Mesh Node).

The Problem: When I enable the Guest Network feature (either through the web interface or the Deco app), it only gets activated on the Main Router (the one on the roof).

The secondary Mesh Node (the one downstairs in the hall) does not broadcast the Guest Network SSID. This causes the Guest Network range to be very limited, and the connectivity drops when moving to the downstairs area where the secondary router is located.

As EasyMesh is designed to create a unified network, the Guest Network SSID should ideally be broadcast across all nodes in the Mesh system. I have already performed the following troubleshooting steps without success:

  • Confirmed the model (Archer C64) fully supports EasyMesh.

  • Factory reset and reconfigured the EasyMesh system.

  • Attempted to enable the Guest Network through both the Web Interface and the Deco app.

Could you please provide guidance or check if this is a known limitation or a setting I might be overlooking for the Archer C64 EasyMesh setup?

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Sincerely,

ronak dangi

Hello @Ronakdangi ,

Welcome to our community.

Currently, TP-Link EasyMesh only supports extending the main 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks. For most Wi-Fi 7 routers that support 6GHz, the 6GHz band can also be extended. However, Guest Wi-Fi, MLO (Multi-Link Operation), and IoT networks cannot be extended through EasyMesh satellite devices at this time. This means that the Guest Network feature will only be available on the main router and cannot be broadcast or managed from the satellite routers in your EasyMesh setup.

If you need Guest Network coverage in other areas, you will need to connect to the main router's Guest Network signal. We recommend keeping an eye on firmware updates from TP-Link, as future updates may add support for extending Guest Networks in EasyMesh configurations.
