Hello TP-Link Community,

I'm about to purchase a 5G Deco system and need updated advice on choosing between Deco X50-5G and Deco X3000-5G.

I found this thread from June 2024: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/671632 where @David-TP recommended the X50-5G as the main model.

However, we are now in October 2025.

My questions:

  1. Is the recommendation still the same (X50-5G), or has something changed?
  2. Which model will receive firmware support longer - the X50-5G or the X3000-5G?
  3. Which one is the latest one?
  4. Are there any known stability issues with the X3000-5G I should be aware of?

Use case: Primary internet via fiber box connected to WAN port, with 5G as automatic backup failover in case of fiber outage. Location: France. Need maximum reliability and long-term firmware support.

Thank you for any updated guidance from @David-TP or experienced users!

  @Sunny2025

Hi, welcome to the community.

It is still suggested to choose Deco X50-5G.

Deco X50-5G and Deco X3000-5G are marketed under different names depending on the region or retailer. They are quite similar in both software and hardware specifications.

Their software release cycle is basically synchronous.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
