Model: TL-WPA8631P
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version:

I have a TP Link router model VX230 which works really well. I have an AV1300 powerline in a separate building where firstly the upload speed is better than the download but also i am ony getting 1.5mbps download - at best. I am using an ethernet cable from the AV1300 into my computer

The download speed from the router is 700mbps wirelessly so i assume there is a problem on the powerline. However, I have been working in my separate office for more than 3 years using a previous AV1300 and a different router. I had no any issues and download speeds were more than enough - 20- or 30 mbps would be sufficient.

Since the new router came (with a new ISP) the internet is quite intermittent but when it does work it is super slow. The AV1300 is stationed in its own socket, as is the base end by the router

Please help! I also cannot get the firmware version

hello @MJG1965 ,

Welcome to our community.

If you have changed to new ISP, it is recommended that you can hard reset the powerline adapters and configure them again:

For models that start with TL-PAxxxx, press and hold the Pair button for 15s until all LEDs turn off, then come back on.

For models beginning with TL-WPAxxxx, press and hold the Reset button for 10s. Release the button and all LEDs turn off. When the LEDs turn back on, the reset process is complete.

For slow speed, please try suggestions here: What should I do if the internet connection is slow when the device is connected to TP-Link Powerline Adapters?
