Model: Deco S7   Deco X10
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I’m thinking of running a Deco X10 as the main router and a Deco S7 as a satellite in the same mesh.

Because the X10 has AI-Driven Mesh features and the S7 doesn’t, I’m trying to understand how they work together in practice:

  • Do the X10’s AI optimizations still apply when a non-AI model (S7) is part of the mesh?

  • Does the S7 limit or change what the X10’s “AI” can do (routing, band steering, client steering, etc.)?

  • Are those optimizations applied across the whole mesh or mainly on the X10 node itself?

  • Also, what are the CPU/RAM specs and real processing power of the Deco X10? Is it strong enough to manage two Decos and a bunch of devices without becoming a bottleneck?

If you’ve mixed these models (or similar), I’d love to hear how performance and stability turned out. anything you’d do differently?

  @goodevil

Hi, thank you very much for your time and patience.

I think the AI-Driven Mesh optimizations are applied mainly to the supported models, and it is suggested to use the same model, Deco X10, in the Mesh network.

You can find the CPU and Memory usage on the web admin UI of Deco X10-Deco web interface login

Best regards.
