Model: Archer C50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: dont know

I have recently bought this second-hand, though I have already bought a new one.

I've reset it using the small black button on the back I have  TP-LINK_0500 TP-LINK_0500_5G, which I can connect to and use the internet from.

I'm trying to use the box as an access point if I try to browset to 192.168.178.20 I get  "Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at 192.168.178.20."

If I connect to the laptop directly, I get the same result.

Clearly this is the wrong IP address for the c50 [I think it might be my laptop]

Any help in working out the IP address of this C50 would be appreciated. My other [new] C50 is sitting  at 192.168.178.50

Hi,

The default IP address of the C50 should be 192.168.0.1.

As the C50 V1 doesn't have a dedicated "Access Point" mode, you will need to manually configure certain things to use it as an access point.

I suggest you follow the instructions for "Case 2" of this article. https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/1384/
