Hey everyone,

I work for an ISP, and we’ve been getting a noticeable increase in complaints from customers using TP-Link routers.

Here’s a summary of what’s happening:

  • Random connection drops – Wi-Fi devices disconnect  even though the router and line are stable.

  • Web interface (GUI) lag – The TP-Link router management page is extremely slow or freezes mid-way when loading or saving settings, even after resets and firmware updates.

  • Connection errors on devices – Many users are seeing the message “Can’t connect to this network” when trying to reconnect to Wi-Fi.

What we’ve tried so far:

  • Power-cycling and factory resets

  • Updating to the latest firmware from TP-Link’s website

  • Reconfiguring routers manually from scratch

  • Trying multiple browsers and devices for the GUI issue

Unfortunately, the issues persist across several models, mainly from the Archer series (AC1200, AC50, AX50, etc.), and it seems to have started recently — possibly after a firmware update.

Since around 99% of our customers use TP-Link Wi-Fi routers, this is becoming a widespread concern. The GUI lag and “Can’t connect to this network” error make it difficult even for users to troubleshoot or reconnect on their own.

If anyone has encountered the same issues or found any reliable fixes, please share your insights. Any help or confirmation would be really appreciated as we’re trying to get to the bottom of this.

Hello @goflol ,

Thanks for contacting our community.

Please tell me which ISP it is.

What type of network do you primarily use? Dynamic IP or PPPoE?

Of the models you mentioned, the Archer C1200 hasn't had a firmware update recently. We cannot confirm that the firmware update is the cause. But if it is confirmed that a firmware update causes the problem, you can try downgrading the firmware for comparison.

Additionally, you can refer to Troubleshooting: Unstable connection on the TP-Link router for suggestions.

If you would like a faster response, you can also contact TP-Link's local support.
