Model: Deco X50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hi,

After buying the Deco X50, during the setup and after completion the setup i am shocked that its firmware has no channel selection feature.

I felt like just scammed by a cheap company, but in a second i realize this is tp-link. If you people do not bring back the feature then I've to stop buying the tp-link products.

Don't expect this kinda illogical behavior from a reputed company. If you can't give the channel selection feature then refund my money, i don't want this garbage where i don't have

freedom to choose which channel i want.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback. I understand that you are concerned about the lack of a manual Wi-Fi channel selection feature on your Deco Mesh system, and you would like the ability to choose which channel your network operates on.

Currently, not all Deco models support manual Wi-Fi channel selection. For models that do support this feature, you can find the option in the Deco app by navigating to More > Wi-Fi Settings > Advanced, where you can select the 2.4GHz or 5GHz channels.

However, for models that do not have this option (such as your Deco X50), Deco uses an automatic "Network Optimization" feature. This feature scans the environment and automatically selects the optimal Wi-Fi channel for your network. You can access this by going to More > Network Optimization in the Deco app. Please note that this optimization only needs to be run once after all Deco units are powered on for the first time; repeated use is not necessary.

Note: When manually selecting 2.4GHz channels, the 'High Capacity' option in 'Wi-Fi Backhaul mode' cannot be used at the same time. If you want to enable 'High Capacity' mode, the 2.4GHz channel setting must be set back to 'auto.'

We appreciate your feedback and understand how important this feature is to some users. If you have additional questions or would like to discuss your concerns further, please feel free to contact TP-Link support.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Can I have the firmware version of your Deco X50?

Our latest WiFi 7 Deco has added Manual Channel Selection. It would be better to replace it with a WiFi 7 Deco, such as Deco BE25 or BE65:

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
