Hi! Ok so i just purchased a ax3000 Deco x50 3 pack. I have it setup to the point that i have internet access but for some strange reason i can't send or receive emails using outlook.

I'm not really too tech savvy so I genuinely would appreciate any help or advice.

The inability to send or receive Outlook emails on a Deco network is likely due to a network or security setting, such as the Deco's firewall, antivirus, or parental controls. First, ensure a stable internet connection and that Outlook is not in "Work Offline" mode. Next, check for any settings within the Deco system or your Outlook account that might be blocking traffic.

Network and security settings (Deco)

  • Update firmware: Ensure your Deco has the latest firmware installed.
  • Disable HomeCare features: Temporarily disable the Antivirus/Firewall and Parental Control features within your Deco app to see if they are interfering.
  • Check for network stability: Make sure your internet connection is stable by testing other websites or devices.

Outlook and account settings

  • Check Outlook status: In Outlook, look for "Disconnected" or "Working Offline" on the status bar. Click the Send/Receive tab and then Work Offline to toggle it off.
  • Log out and back in: Log out of your Outlook account and then log back in to reset the connection.
  • Verify account settings: Double-check that your email account's server settings (SMTP and POP/IMAP) are correct and haven't changed.
  • Update password: If you recently changed your password, make sure to update it in Outlook.
  • Check email filters and rules: Review your rules and filters to ensure they are not accidentally blocking your messages.
  • Clear cache or restart: Clear your browser cache if using Outlook on the web, or restart the Outlook app and your device.

Other potential issues

  • Large attachments: Check if you are trying to send a message with a very large attachment that is too big for your email provider's limits.
  • Anti-virus/firewall software: If you have separate security software installed on your computer, try temporarily disabling its email scanning feature.
  • Add-ins: Try disabling Outlook add-ins, as they can sometimes cause conflicts.

  @The-Yikes

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

Can I have the firmware version of your Deco X50?

Would there be any error message when Outlook emails can't be sent out?

Here are some suggestions for your reference:

  • Change the IPV4 DNS to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4
  • Make sure the laptop/mobile phone hasn't been added to any Parental Control Profile.
  • If you've subscribed to "Security +", please temporarily disable IoT Protection, Web Protection, Intrusion Prevention to see whether it makes any difference.

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.
