Hi,

I would like to setup my TL-WR902AC to give internet access to a security system.

There's a few obstacles:

- We are using MAC address filtering (I am able to get the device registered)

- Netmask 255.240.0.0

- DHCP (I am unsure if the device will expose its own DHCP to the network or if i should turn the DHCP off)

- we're using a proxy a well (i could get the device white listed. question is do i whitelist the tp-link or the security system?)

I guess what I am asking is does the campus network even notice what's behind the tp-link or does the device hide what's connected to its ethernet port from the campus WiFi.

I hope I presented the plan in a coherent manner.

I'd be grateful for any help.

Hi,

If you know how to work with IP addresses, then it's better to switch DHCP off.

You will most likely need to whitelist both, the TL-WR902AC and the security system. My experience is that it won't work otherwise.

And yes, in "Client" mode the campus network will see all devices behind the TL-WR902AC. If you don't want this, then use the "Share Hotspot" mode instead.
