Hello, I'm reaching out in hope for som guidance for a newbie in VPN tunneling.

I've made a VPN (Server-to Client), which i can connect to from my laptop.

From there I can ping my ER605. So fa so good.

 

But I do not get any access to exit the internet when running with my VPN connection.

 

I would like to do a setup, so I on my computer, can access local streaming TV with the local DNS from my ER605.

Can any help me with a remedy, so I can watch local TV, when travelling?

  @NeilR_M I found the mistake. My ER605 is behind a firewall. After correcting the IP in my client to the public IP, I succeded.

However thank you for guidance.

  @Gronskov When setting up your OpenVPN server, what did you set for the Primary DNS server? Also, did you enable Full Mode? If you can provide your OpenVPN server configuration as well that would be great.

Hello  @NeilR_M , thank you for quick response.

I did not put any DNS, nor full mode in my setup.

I've made som screenshots at my VPN config on my Router and the VPN Client.
So I should use a DNS from my IP provider, and change it into Fullmode?

Or is it better to use Wireguard to setup a VPN?

  @Gronskov Try just with enabling Full Mode first, and then if it does not work still, go ahead and add a manual DNS entry.
