Hi,

We've got 3 wifi extenders (AV600s) around the house and they have become unreliable, one of them is no longer working at all (the other 2 do work mostly mostly but occasionally won't)

They've been in place over 18 months and have worked brilliantly up until the last month or so.

We haven't changed routers or any settings.

The one that isn't working at all, I have moved it next to the router. Reset it, and tried to pair again. It won't pair.

If I wire it between the router and the extender then the wifi does work.

Has anyone got any suggestions please.

This happened to us  few years ago, again with TP Link, everything was fine and then they stopped working after a while. Is that a thing, do extenders 'wear out'?

Thanks,

Sally

Hello @SallyGil ,

Welcome to our community.

If possible, please hard reset the powerline extender as below:

For the models which start with TL-PAxxxx, press and hold the Pair button for 15s until all LEDs turn off and then come back on.

For models beginning with TL-WPAxxxx, press and hold the Reset button for 10s. Release the button and all LEDs turn off. When the LEDs turn back on, the reset process is complete.

Then add the extender as below: How to add an extra Powerline AC extender to the existing Powerline AC wireless network by Pair button?
