Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.3.0

Hello!

I just wanna ask for a solution on my ER605 which connected to my Omada setup using OC200.

The main problem is, there are times that the gateway gives a fallback ip (169.254.x.x) and results no internet connection. May I ask what is the main reason? My daily solution is rebooting the er605.

Thank you for your help!

Thank you for your post. Could you clarify whether the IP in question was obtained on the WAN side or the LAN side? The address appears invalid; if it came from the WAN side, it indicates the ER605 has lost connectivity with the upstream device and failed to receive a proper WAN IP. Please check the upstream connection. Additionally, review the OC200’s logs for any related entries.

Hi! I just noticed that the issue might be caused by having a large number of people connecting, which causes the IP address to fall back. I tried using the private IP 10.0.0.1/21 to increase the IP pool. We also contacted the ISP, and they said their router may have a problem that prevents the ER605 from obtaining a DHCP address. I will continue to observe if the problem persists.

169.254.x.x is the self-assigned IP address a device gives itself if it doesnt recieve a DHCP response (or doesnt request one)

Check your client isnt overriding DHCP with wacky settings
