Hello,

My Tapo P110 smart plug is not able to onboard to Deco M5 as a smart device. It is in the list as a smart device during home automation setup screen but can't join to network as a smart device at the end of setup.

Therefore I can't use my Tapo P110 smart plugs in the home automation and this is a big problem for me.

I am aware of some KLAP incompatibility issues between Deco and Tapo but this must be solved by TP-Link asap, otherwise it would be meaningless to include smart home feature in Deco products provided that both products are under TP-Link brand.

And it is very dissapointing not to see any clarification on TP-Link website regarding which Deco products and firmwares are definitely compatible to Tapo smart devices.

How do we know that Smart Home feature would work when buying a Deco product if there is nowhere to see related compatibility info. TP-Link expects us to buy each product to try and return if it doesn't work ? They leave us alone to have that feature by chance ?

Regards.

I can tell you that I have reported this issue in the past to tp-link and just recently reported it again at the end of last month. Your best bet is to use the Tapo app to manage your Kasa/Tapo devices as I have heard nothing if they are going to fix this or not.

Need help with the Deco app, setup, Ethernet backhaul, network switch or rolling back firmware? Router or AP mode? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/699816?page=1

  @HelpFixDecoApp

Thank you for your support.
Unfortunately, Tapo App doesn't provide presence detection trigger (i.e. mobile phone wifi connection to the mesh) which in turn automates the action (turn the plug power off to cam off)

And I need this trigger for two mobiles (my wife-A and me-B)
So;
A or B at home ---> Cams off
A and B away ---> Cams on

There is no way for Tapo App to do that.

I was able to use these triggers and corresponding action successfully with a custom built Beta firmware (1.7.4 Beta) provided by TP-Link until I have decided to update to latest firmware (1.9.1) since recently it was not much stable

TP-Link had promised me they would add this to the official release but they never did :(

  @David-TP

Btw, I don't want to receive Beta firmware solutions anymore. TP-LINK had committed before to release an official firmware including this fix as I mentioned in the forum. Beta firmwares prevent me updating to the new official releases and make security concerns.

It appears now again TP-LINK is not able to bring an official solution to the table  as I got used to anticipate for one and half year.

NOT SOLVED
