Model: Deco X55
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

our x55's are not working very well in the garden room.  plan attached , room is number 1 main deco x55 is attached to the router at A  two other deco are at x and 2 M4R's are at "o" Deco units are not in cupboards and are table height.  The room is aluminium l which i assume is not helping .  All deco show good strength apart from garden room which is normally weak  it has shown good strength once or twice for short periods.

The house has recently been rewired so should all be on the same main, however i have bought two powerlines which fail to pair for any period of time.

If i can get them to pair do i plug the first powerline into the main deco via an internet cable and then repeat the process in the garden room or will this cause conflicts?

Is there anything else i can do to improve the situation or should i return them to the supplier and try a different brand?    I know seem unable to upload a pdf of the house plan is their a problem using google chrome?

I really dont want get an ethernet cable in due to the distance from the router to the room. None of decos are in enclosed spaces, signal strength is good except for garden room where is is weak. Not sure if they are too close together but it is quite a big footprint and when we used three M4'rs prior to the garden room the system was good, We have one Deco x55 in the room can i add more? or is that overkill? If i can get the powerlines working how do i proceed with the Deco x55 in the garden room? Am i right to connect the powerline by cable to the main deco and the same in the garden room with a satellite X55. do i plug the internet cable into the powerline and the unit? would that give me better wi fi strength into the room? Thank you

  @Bafflled

Hi, welcome to the community.

I tested the PDF file could be uploaded via Google browser. Maybe the file is oversized. Can you try to add a screenshot of the house floor plan?

By the way, how many Deco units do you have now, 2*Deco X55+3*Deco M4?

I noticed you mentioned the powerline adapters. Can I have the model number of the powerline adapters?

Apart from the standard powerline adapters, some Deco models also support Powerline Backhaul, such as Deco P9.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

Thank you for your response.   I have 3 deco x55 and 3 M4   the third m4 is currently in the hall.

the powerlines are TL - PA7017PKIT    i had orignally bought the TL-WPA8631P  AAV1300 but they have the plug at the bottom and the gardne romm has floor sockets and they wouldnt fit without an adaptor so i returned them and bought the PA7017

I have ordered a Deco outdoor X50 which iam going to try just outside the garden room.  Is this overkill?   Room is proabably 10 meters ftrom the house

I am happy to buy whatever it takes.

Thank you

to recap   A is router and main deco wired to router and set as Access point

0  are M4's

x are x55's
