Roaming looses connection when moving floor to floor - Deco BE25 and Deco M5

Model: Deco BE25   Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

My wifi network used to consist of 8 Deco M5 nodes with wired backhaul in AccessPoint mode. This worked excellent. For performance reasons I upgraded and replaced 3 Deco M5's with 3 Deco BE25's. Same topology, same config, most recent firmware on all devices. Network fully rebooted (full power off including fiber modem and all switches). One BE25 assigned as Main Deco.

Since this moment I do have issues that I loose connection whenever I move to another floor (iPhone 15 Pro, iPad Pro). I fully reconstructed the Deco network from scratch ( factory reset for all devices) but this did not help either.

Also "Forgetting" the network on the iPhone/iPad does not help.

When I try to reconnect I often see no IPv4 network address (which should be in 192.168.2.nnn) at all or an address in the 169.nnn.nnn.nnn range. When I switch wifi off/on then sometimes this gets solved an have a connection again.

I use the DHCP server from the Zyxel EX5601-T1 modem.

Any idea how I can solve this ?

  @TomVnd

Hi, welcome to the community.

Can I have some screenshots of the network maps on the Deco App, such as:

Apart from the Apple devices, were you having similar issues on other non-Apple mobile devices?

By the way, would there be a network switch used for Ethernet Backhaul among Deco units?

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

@David-TP Thanks for your swift reply. Herewith the requested screenshots :

I also included an overview of my network switches. So yes, there are multiple switches in my network. The majority (green) always have been there (TPLink SG108 1GB). I don't have other roaming devices but Apple devices (iPhones, iPads and MacBooks).
