How to set up Internet Backup on your Deco

The link below mentions that the X50 can be used in Internet Backup.mode but I can't find it in the app

Is it only available in specific versions ?

Deco X50_V1.3-1.2.10 hasn't added Internet Backup. V1 with the latest firmware did.
Currently, a new 1.3.1 firmware for Deco X50_V1.3 will be ready for testing, which has added Internet Backup. If you're interested, I'll share it via email, and you can test how it works.

I've applied that beta firmware and it looks great - it's also added System Time & Auto Update for firmware too which we have discussed before.
I assume Internet Backup is only available in Router Mode too.
Do you know when this Beta firmware is scheduled to be released?
And will the Internet Backup feature be available on other models like the X20?

Hi, yes, "Internet Backup" is only available in router mode.
The official release will still take a while. We will launch a beta test in the next few days first.
There hasn't been further news about other models. But "Internet Backup" only needs the support on the main Deco if you're in a mixed Mesh system.

@David-TP Having just had an internet outage this morning, whilst waiting for online interviews (!!), I've just ordered a 5g sim to go in my X50-5g deco unit, which is currently a satellite on my network. So I'm really interested in seeing this internet backup option! If I can get the beta firmware, am I able to then set this up? Would I need to set the X50-5g as the main unit rather than a satellite? Sorry for all the questions, this sounds really interesting, and would solve my worries!

How about the model of your main Deco? The main Deco needs to support Internet Backup first, then you also need a Deco X50-5G to serve as the satellite.

The concept is fantastic
However I've had limited success getting it to work.
When my X50 does connect to the Hotspot the connection is only temporary and then it disconnects.
I realise this may be expected as it's the Beta release.
If I can help with any logs please let me know.

@David-TP Thanks - my main deco is an M9 Plus. So not sure if that supports internet backup? Certainly not showing on my app ... I presume though I could swap them out so the X50-5G was the main deco unit? Would that be difficult to do - and if not, would I then get the option in the app to have internet backup? Sorry for all the questions - somewhat novice at sorting this!
