Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.9.1

I recently changed ISP from BT to Vodafone. Previously with BT I had setup the Deco to replace the BT wifi hub using PPPoE credentials. I tried the same with the vodafone connection and it's not working using PPPoE. The credentials are correct, but when connecting the cable from the Openreach ONT directly to the Deco m5 the light goes red. When I change the Deco connection type to Dynamic IP and connect Deco to the Vodafone hub it works. Is there a way I can bypass the Vodafone hub ?

Hi, welcome to the community.

Google search mentioned, for most FTTP (fiber-to-the-home) connections, especially those over a city fiber network, a VLAN ID (often 911 or 101) is required. However, FTTC (fiber-to-the-cabinet) connections usually use a straightforward PPPoE connection without a VLAN ID.

If you check the network settings on the Vodafone hub, would there be any VLAN ID configured?

If not, you can refer to this link to manually copy the MAC address of the Vodafone Hub on the Deco to see whether it helps:

How to configure MAC Clone on Deco if Deco fails to connect to the internet

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
