5 GHz Channel Width Issue

Model: Deco E4
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20250728 Rel. 35087

Hi everyone,

I have 3pack Deco E4 (US) Ver. 4.0, and I'm running into an issue with the 5 GHz WiFi network. Some devices simply cannot see the 5 GHz SSID at all.

After digging deeper, I found that the problem is related to the channel width, which is currently set to 80 MHz. For compatibility reasons, I need to manually change it to 20 MHz, since several of my devices don’t detect 5 GHz networks when the channel width is too wide.

My entire infrastructure uses Ethernet Backhaul in router mode.

I already tried modifying the channel width through both the Deco app and the web interface, but neither option provides a way to change it manually.

Does anyone know if it's possible to adjust the 5 GHz channel width on this model, or if there's any firmware update/workaround that allows manual configuration?

Thanks in advance!

@ruben_calle No there is no problem with 80 MHz and the Main problem is your country is'nt allowed channels 36, 40, 44 and 48 and these channels can work easily on Apple devices and Android tablets but Android phones can't detect these channels because of country rules and regulations because your country is allowed only these channels 149, 153, 157 and 161 if you are living in Bangladesh or somewhere else.

Please & Thank You !! ❤️

@ruben_calle As ARGamingPK1 said, 5 Ghz band 1 (channels 36-48) is restricted in some countries for security concerns. Band 4 (channels 149-161) is allowed instead.

Which country are you from? Did you buy those Decos from official distributors in your country?

Just a M4 (2-pack) user who regrets buying it

Thank you @ImtiazAli.

I’m from Bolivia, and I purchased the Decos from an authorized local distributor.
Given this situation, how could I solve the issue?

Is there any way to manually select Band 4 on the Deco units?

Thanks  @ARGamingPK1.
So how can I manually select Band 4 on the Deco units ? or is there a possible workaround to make my devices detect the 5 GHz network?

@ruben_calle You can try Network Optimization feature so the Deco will select best channel.

  @ARGamingPK1

When I run the network optimization, it reports that there is no interference.
