Model: Deco M9 Plus   Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: Latest

I am currently using two TP-Link M9 Plus units and one M5 unit in bridge mode in my three-story wooden house.

The main unit is placed on the second floor, and the units on the first and third floors are set up as satellite nodes.

However, even though the devices should be physically closer to the satellite nodes, for some reason they all connect to the main unit.

What could be the possible causes of this issue?

If it’s just a display issue in the app, that would be fine, but if the devices are truly connecting only to the main unit, I’m concerned that having purchased the satellite units might have been pointless.

If there is any additional information needed to identify the cause, please let me know and I will provide it.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Can I have the firmware versions on the Deco M9 Plus and Deco M5?

Is one of the Deco M9 Plus set as the main Deco?

The last time I saw this feedback was due to the firmware version 1.2.10 of Deco M9 Plus, which is rather old since the latest firmware has been 1.9.1:

Deco M9 Plus_V2/2.2_1.9.1 Build 20250612

How to upgrade the firmware of TP-Link Deco-Method Three

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.
