Good evening everyone,

Last week we purchased an Archer BE800 router to use with our Starlink Gen 2.  Everything was setup correctly with the ethernet adapter and utilizing bypass mode in the Starlink app.  The first several days, everything worked absolutely flawless.  After day 5, all of the devices remained connected to the internet without issue, except two Samsung phones (both WiFi 6E) in the household.  When attempting to reconnect to the WiFi, we received "connected without internet."  I tried rebooting the router several times with no luck.

I decided to factory reset both the Starlink and Archer BE800 router at the same time.  After reconfiguring the router, everything worked as it should again.  Fast forward to today, the exact same issue occurred.  Every device in the household (laptops, Xbox, TV's, printers, other non-samsung phones, etc etc) remained connected to the WiFi without any issue.  I decided to narrow down the issue by only factory resetting one device at a time.  I only performed a manual factory reset on the Starlink router, reconfigured the Starlink router for connectivity, and placed it back into bypass mode.  Once completed, everything is working again as normal.  I did not make any changed to the Archer BE800 when performing this reset.

This would seem to be an issue with Starlink hardware, and not the TP-Link router.  Has anyone else ran into this issue and figured out a permanent fix?  Thank you in advance!

Hello @Nater309 ,

Welcome to our community.

May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:

Starlink Gen 2 bypass mode—Archer BE800 )))((( client devices

(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )

If the Archer BE800 is a new router, have you compared the connection between the Samsung phone and the old router?

Which Wi-Fi band do Samsung phones primarily use? By the way, what are the models of them?

When the wireless connection is lost, will the Samsung phone disconnect from WiFi?

Or it is still connected but no internet, and you need to disconnect the phone and reconnect it to the WiFi?

What is the IP address on the Samsung phone? Please refer to How to find IP address on your devices

It seems to be a limitation of  Samsung phones. Have you tried contacting the technical support of both companies separately for further help?

I found that you may be able to change the DNS server on the Phone for a try:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap on Connections.
  3. Select Wi-Fi, and tap on your connected Wi-Fi network.
  4. Tap on Advanced, then choose IP settings.
  5. Change from DHCP to Static.
  6. In the DNS 1 field, enter 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS).
  7. In the DNS 2 field, enter 8.8.4.4 (Another Google DNS).
  8. Save and reconnect.
