Wednesday
Model: Deco X50-5G
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.3.1

I installed an X50-5G (V1) at my parents house earlier in the year.

After lots of crashing issues I installed the newly released 1.3.0 which worked absolutely perfectly.

Then last week I received a phone call to tell me their internet was off.

Sure enough I couldn't connect through the app.

Talking to my elderly mother she said it just showed a red light.

I found the unit was broadcasting the default TP-Link WiFi SSID, so I added it as a new unit on my app.

The X50-5G had done a software update on its own to 1.3.1

I saw no notification of this on my app and I am the only owner/manager of the system.

Further more it had wiped out all if it's settings such as WiFi and lost it's three X50 extenders.

It had changed itself to a stand alone router instead of the default 5G router so wasn't connecting to any mobile network too.

Is 1.3.1 firmware being pushed OTA now? How can it update itself with me knowing?

That's another 180 mile round trip to sort out this troublesome thing!

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

Deco X50-5G_1.3.0 should support "Auto Update" which you can find under Deco App>More>System>Update Deco.

You can disable the "Auto update" and manually revert to 1.3.0 firmware via web admin UI if needed.

Are the three satellite Deco X50 units still offline? How about its LED status? flashing red or blue?

When you reset the main Deco X50-5G and set it up again on the Deco App, have you also reset the satellite units and re-added them to the new Mesh network?

By the way, what is the firmware version of the satellite Deco X50 extenders?

Thanks a lot.

Wait for your reply.
