Router is placed at the bottom of a drawer, not disturbed by anything. Power access seems constant, I have a few other things in the same group of outlets and they do not have any issues. 

The router has not been touched, no new devices, no changes in configuration. It looks like it started out of the blue.

The downtime affects both ethernet devices and wifi devices. 
It usually goes in a pattern of 1-3 short (2s?) downtimes, then one longer (5s?) downtime. Then there is some time of peace and it starts over again. 

I did a firmware update, did not resolve the issue. 


I will paste the logs from the beginning of the issue up to current (ommiting few repetitive lines)
the oldest are pre-update,  the newer block is post update.

Im happy to load some debug firmware or rollback it god knows how much.

The router should ideally be placed in an open area, not inside a drawer or cabinet, as this can cause signal interference and instability. 

 

Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and hopefully help:

1. Firmware Update:
• You mentioned the firmware is already updated, which is great. Always ensure you are running the latest version.

2. Power Supply:
• Even if other devices on the same outlet work fine, please make sure you are using the original power adapter for the router and try a different power socket if possible.

3. WAN (Internet) Connection Stability:
• Connect a PC directly to your modem (bypassing the router) to check if the Internet from your ISP is stable.
• Ensure the Ethernet cable between your modem and router is securely connected and in good condition. Try replacing it with a new cable if possible.
• Change the DNS servers on your router: Log in to the web interface (http://tplinkwifi.net), go to Advanced > Network > Internet > Advanced Settings, and set the DNS servers to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8.

4. Wireless Client Stability:
• The router should ideally be placed in an open area, not inside a drawer or cabinet, as this can cause signal interference and instability. Try moving the router to a more open location if possible.
• In the router's web interface, go to Advanced > Wireless > Wireless Settings, and try changing the Wi-Fi channels to avoid interference from nearby networks.
• For 2.4GHz devices, set the channel width to 20MHz; for 5GHz devices, set it to 80MHz or 40MHz.
• Make sure Parental Controls restrict none of your devices.
• Ensure that the network adapter drivers and firmware on your connected devices are up to date.
