Model: Deco P9
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20240716 Rel. 60900

Hi,

I received a notification that the latest version was available to download, but I held off for a while to see the general feedback on the release. The response seems largely positive, so I decided to go ahead and upgrade. However, when I select Check for updates, the app reports that I am already running the latest version.

I’m wondering whether this might be related to the app handling different firmware images for different hardware versions. My setup includes mixed hardware, which may be causing the issue.

I then tried using the web interface, but it only allows uploading a single image at a time. I’m also unsure what would happen if I attempted to upload firmware intended for V2 hardware, as my setup consists of one main router on V2 hardware and three additional units that are a mix of V1 and V2.

Currently, the system is running with a combination of Wi-Fi and powerline backhaul. Over the holidays, I plan to hardwire all of the Deco units with Ethernet, as backhauling seems to be the main weak point at the moment. I’ve seen positive feedback regarding both Ethernet backhaul performance and the new firmware version, which is why I’m keen to upgrade before installing Ethernet throughout the house.

The master is kitchen, any advise on how to move forward would be great.

Many Thanks

Chris
