Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.5.2 Build 20240927 Rel.68997

Hi

My Deco S7 system (3 x S7) have worked quite well for some time, but in one specific area of the house the coverage was not good enough.

So I bought a couple of X10 units, but they do not work that well together.

I have tried to keep one S7 as the primary unit (one of the remaining S7 is wired to the primary unit, the third wireless), just adding one X10 to the current setup.

But after adding the X10 the Internet access drops, keep toggling on and off until I disconnect power to the X10.

Yesterday, after disconnecting power to the new X10, I noticed that I had a very high WiFi net called "Deco_x..." running, about 20dB higher than my regular WiFi net.

After investigation, I could confirm that it was my wired old S7 that had changed name from "Tapo_" to "Deco_" and boosted the output power.

After removing and restoring power to the wired S7, the normal name and output power was back.

The first time I tried to add the X10, I was asked if I wanted to have the X10 as a primary unit but since I use all RJ45-ports on the primary S7 I refused.

Is that maybe the reason?

BR

Anders

Hi, welcome to the community.

Were you still having the reported issue here?

Can I have the firmware version of the Deco X10?

If possible, it is suggested to unplug one of the Deco S7(the one that is connected via an Ethernet cable, for example), then connect the new Deco X10 via an Ethernet cable to the main Deco S7 to test whether it would work stably.

Deco X10 should work well even as the satellite unit, so I think now having Deco X10 as the main Deco should not be related to the instability issue.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
