Still no fix for terrible localization quality / forced system language for Deco App in 2026?
Hello TP-Link community and support staff,
I am writing this post out of pure frustration with the persistent and unresolved issue of the Deco app's localization quality. It is 2026, and the situation is simply unacceptable for a global company providing premium networking hardware.
The
Czech localization (and likely others, such as Slovak or Polish) is objectively catastrophic. It uses machine translations that lead to completely illogical terminology and functions, making advanced settings incomprehensible.
I have already contacted the local Czech support team, but I have zero confidence this will lead to any actual change.
The core issues are:
- Awful Translation Quality: Technical terms are mistranslated into nonsensical Czech phrases. It makes the app unusable for anyone with technical knowledge.
- Forced System Language: The app still forces the user to use the phone's system language. There is no in-app language switch.
- No English Strings in Regional App: I even attempted a technical workaround using ADB commands on Android to force the app to display English, only to find that the English language strings appear to be entirely removed from the regional version of the app. This is a deliberate design choice that locks users into a broken translation.
We, as customers, are essentially locked out of using the application correctly unless we switch our entire operating system into English.
When will TP-Link treat its non-English speaking customers with the respect they deserve? When will we get a proper, quality localization, or at least a simple
in-app language selector?
Please escalate this to the actual product development team. This issue has been present for years and seriously damages the reputation of otherwise good hardware.
A very frustrated customer.
