Model: Deco X50
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.10 Build 20241105 Rel. 40010

Hi,

Model: X50

Firmware: 1.2.10 Build 20241105 Rel. 40010

I have a Deco X50 home mesh running in AP mode and works fine currently. I am switching ISP and the new ISP send me a new router/modem.

I setup the new router/modem (without Internet yet) with the LAN running DHCP. The LAN subnet is the same as the old router.

When I move the connect from the main Deco to this new router/modem LAN port, the main Deco LED turn solid red. I can still see the SSID in my mobile but I just can't connect to it. I try rebooting the main Deco but still the same.

I also try reserving a static IP for the main Deco in the new router DHCP setting but still the same. Though I can ping the main Deco from the new router.

Did I miss anything here? Isn't it just a swing of the LAN cable will do the job? Appreciate for any comments.

  @Micyew

Hi, welcome to the community.

Would there be any error messages on the mobile devices when they can't connect to Deco Wi-Fi?

Can the laptop still be able to access the web admin UI via the reserved IP address?

-If yes, it is recommended to manually install the 1.3.1 firmware here for Deco X50_V1.3_1.2.10 Build 20241105 Rel. 40010:

Deco X50/X55_V1.3_1.3.1 Introduced Channel Selection, WiFi Access Control and WireGuard VPN

By the way, may I know your new ISP and the model number of the new modem router?

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

@David-TP

Thanks for the response. BTW, all my Deco is running in "AP mode" and "Smart DHCP" is turn off.

Once I swing the connection, the main Deco LED stay solid red. The satellite deco was red as well. I thought the satellite will stay green since it still has a connection to the main Deco. The main Deco stay red because the new router don't have an Internet connection yet.

All my wireless client drop off from the mesh SSID. I can see my SSID in my wireless client but just can't connect to it. The IPhone wifi status show a spinning wheel.

From a wired laptop, I still can ping the main Deco and able to access the web UI.

My new ISP is Optus and I was using a BYO router (Cisco ISR4k). GE0 (192.168.0.1) is my home network and GE1 is the ISP (FTTP) connection using IPoE.

Is the new 1.3.1 firmware a beta version?
