Subject: Technical Bug Report: Deco X50 V1.30 Firmware 1.2.10 - Unstable in Mixed Mesh
To the TP-Link Technical Support Team,
I am writing to report a significant stability issue with the latest firmware update for the Deco X50 (V1.30), version 1.2.10 Build 20251201 (or similar).
Since updating today, my satellite DX50 units have consistently fallen offline/restarted, displaying a "Disconnected" status in the app while occasionally maintaining a green LED. I am running a mixed mesh system with a Deco BE65 Pro (Main) and two DX50 satellites, all operating in Access Point (AP) Mode behind a Telstra Smart Modem.
Technical Findings & Logs:
-
SSH Connection Timeouts: Upon inspecting the Deco system logs, the units were repeatedly throwing the error:
ssh_connect: Timeout to [IP Address] port 22This indicates that the management service on the DX50 is crashing or becoming unresponsive under the new firmware.
-
Smart DHCP Conflict: Despite being in AP Mode ((both router and AP Mode), the units triggered "Smart DHCP" (
udhcpdactive in logs), leading to IP address conflicts and "Double DHCP" issues with the main Telstra gateway. -
CPU Overload via WAN Sensing: The DX50 units appear hypersensitive to standard "WAN Sensing" packets from the Telstra modem. The logs showed
wansensing(throughput)checks every 5 seconds, which seemed to trigger the X50 management crash. -
Resolution: I have successfully restored my network by performing a manual local rollback to Firmware Version 1.2.8. The system is now stable with all units online.
I request that this be escalated to your engineering team to investigate the 1.2.10 firmware's handling of "Smart DHCP" in AP mode and its compatibility with Wi-Fi 7 main nodes.
