I have two X20s (set A) working as a pair on my home network. They are fine and have worked well for 3+ years. (Although they seem due new software by now.)

 

A friend has been given another pair of X20s (set B) already configured with an SSID that (a) needed a new SSID/password and (b) to have the owner changed.

 

Set B were connected to my home network. They appeared fine, the SSID and password were changed and iOS devices could be connected and get internet connectivity. Using one of those devices, the Deco App showed the original owner. The original owner password was entered and then the new owner email. The new owner received a confirmation that the ownership had changed. The Deco app was relaunched and the screens prompted to connect and got the Bind prompt. However, the owner hadn't changed. 

 

Have tried this a couple more times (and the email confirmation has been received). Is there a way to get it to stick? Or do I have to do a full reset and start again from scratch? If so, can a second pair of X20s be configured on the same network as a separate pairing?

Hi, thank you very much for the update.

Resetting and reconfiguring the Deco would be the quickest solution to switch the owner.

If you would like to spend a little more time, you could refer to this link to submit the Deco App log:How to submit Deco APP log

(You might need to log into the new owner's email to submit the Deco App log.)

Please also add the MAC address of the Deco X20 that you want to change the owner account for in the email content.

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

I think you can hardware reset set B(hold the reset pinhole for 1s only) and add it to the set A Mesh network, then set B will have the same SSID& password  and owner as set A:

Thanks for the prompt reply. However, I am not adding the Set B devices to the Set A ones. I only connected Set B temporarily so I could reconfigure their SSID for their new owner. That has worked so from that perspective they are ready. It's just the old owner I can't change. I had hoped to take them fully configured to their new home/network and just plug them in. 

 

If the only way to get the owner changed is to do a full reset I'll just have to do that on the new network (so they don't connect to Set A) and it will just take a little longer to set them up from scratch.
