My Archer D7 (AC1750) has for the past few weeks started dropping the wireless broadcast. Perhaps an odd thing is, it'll broadcast the 2.4ghz range, but not the 5ghz range. However, if you try to connect to the 2.4ghz band, your device will say it doesn't know the password even though it's the exact same SSID you've been connecting to in the past. I decided to check the log, and the strangest thing is that when this issue occurs there are a ton of incorrect log entries with the incorrect date: 1970-01-01. These log entries go on, until I reboot the router and then all log entires have the current date and time.
I've tried:

-Rebooting
-Restoring firmware
-Upgrading firmware
-Changing wireless channels

Things I cannot do:
-I cannot change from PPPoE to PPPoA
-I cannot have a wired connection, since there are only Macs in the house.

Log:
73 1970-01-01 02:01:19 PPP Information ppp0 rcvd [PADS SessionID(0x0001)]
74 1970-01-01 02:01:19 PPP Information ppp0 sent [PADR Host-Uniq(0x0000040e)]
75 1970-01-01 02:01:19 PPP Information ppp0 rcvd [PADO PeerMac(00-d0-f6-98-05-9f)]
76 1970-01-01 02:01:19 PPP Information ppp0 sent [PADI Host-Uniq(0x0000040e)]

Thanks in advance for anyone that has some feedback.

I'm having a similar Issue with my IPhones and IPads whereby they are wirelessly connected to the Wireless Modem Router but no internet transmission is occurring. Sometimes it works for a while and then it drops off, I then have to shut the device down and restart it to re-establish the connection. I got hold of the TP-Link Tech support and they have requested that I turn off / disable WMM. Will give it a go tonight and post back my findings tomorrow.

I have the exact same issue, the same log entries with the wrong time etc.Is there no reply from TP-Link about this? I see postings on other forums of the same issue with no resolution.

I suspect it has to do with another reported issue with Archer models that I had: the presence of certain wireless cards seem to make it unstable, even if they are not connected to the router but just happen to be in range, just by the act of those devices looking for APs. I had one device which did this to the router constantly so I got rid of it, which solved the issue for a while, but it's back now. I'm in an apartment so there are lots of wireless devices in range. Someone is probably walking by the corridor with maybe a certain model phone that, whenever it tries to look for APs near my apartment it kills the router.

Did you tried the Archer D7 firmware as those guys said in other posts?
I read about those posts and find someone works but some not work. That's strange. I think TPLink may not solve this problem totally but maybe firmware can work for some lucky guys

I've gone upto "1.6.0 0.9.1 v002d.0 Build 160216 Rel.57110n" which is the highest firmware available for the EU version I have, it hasn't helped.

Hi Falconne

It seems TPLink offer a beta firmware for this issue. You could ask their support for that firmware. Firmware 170407.
There are several posts taking about this .

Since my last post I'd upgraded to Build 170511 from the Australian site using the EU to AU conversion. I assumed since I'm in New Zealand that AU site was more appropriate. This didn't solve the problem.

Since this build number is now higher than the beta, shouldn't this include the beta fixes?

I think not. The beta firmware 170407 seems a independent firmware which is different from those offical released version.
And i found many people says the 170407 works while the 170511 useless. You can also find the same information from

i'm not seeing any improvement due to 170407. I still have the same hangs as before.
Also - 170407 NEEDS you to convert to AU. It will not flash on 160216 EU.

Has anyone successfully reached out to tp-link on this ? This is a seriously widespread issue. Why arent they doing anything ?

Hmm I suspect using the beta might not work for me either but it's worth a try.

Does anyone know if it's safe to downgrade (or sidegrade as it seems to be) from 170511 to 170407?
