Model: Archer NX200
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: v1.2.0.3.0.0

Hi, we just bought this router a few weeks ago.

It works pretty nice at day, but close to midnight it starts connecting with a tower far away (9km) with terrible download speeds.

Its unusable at this point, i tried everything. I dont eather understand why it connects to the bad tower, i checked the values 1 min before this happens. (we have 2 external Yagi antennas)

Closest BTS at 4km:

N78:

RSRP: -88dbm

RSRQ: -11db

SINR: 12db

B28:

RSRP: -83 dbm

RSRQ: -9db

SNR: 16db

The values look good, but for some reason it decides to connect with the one far away with negative SINR values and bad RSRP,RSRQ values.

What could be the reason. Any chance we get cell lock like the deco X50-5g ?

Else i need to return the NX200 and look for another device as long as i am able to.

Please tell me as soon as possible, thanks.

Could be from ISP forcing different cell towers. I do experience similar behavior in KSA network.

The number of Cells discovered on my network varies from 20-36 at different times of the day (had beta firmware to track).

I do notice speed dropping to low at night even with CA mode N40+N78 with SS-SINR 2.5dB.  During day time N40 give good SS-SINR 24dB , also cell reconnects happens with different IP if band N77 active for long duration.

I have returned the product. If you decide to keep it, I suggest installing specific filters between the antenna and the router for the frequencies you want to block.

it could be either planned sector shutdowns for upgrades at those times etc;  or somehow the nx200 is latching onto distant cells/sectors .  Having B28 available can make the modem 'see' distant sectors as 700mhz signals have large coverage.  Since you have external antenna and if your not in remote area you can try band lock a midband (B1,B3 etc) + n78 - effectively removing B28 700mhz from the scope .

Thank you all. I unluckily had to return the router. As i use 2 yagi antennas, 5g nsa requires one 4g band as lead. it seems like the extern antenna ports work only for 5g so the 4g is connected via intern antennas. This give me a terrible situation.

I bought a router with 4 external antenna ports and with cell lock. Now its working flawlessly fine.

But you were right b28 gets shut down at night, so i cell locked to b28 and b3. It automatically switches over to b3 if b28 is shut down over night.

Even with the new router it would have switched to the bad bts at 9km when b28 shuts down, no clue why. Cell lock is so important.

We still have one nx200 at the office. its working fine witouth external antwnna there.
