I have an Archer C7 V4 EU and recently received an automatic firmware update through the Tether app to version 1.15.0 Build 250729 Rel.63726n(4555).

 

After some research I found that this exact build number is identical to the Archer C80 V2 firmware, as confirmed by another user in this [thread](https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/threads/topic/850210). The version on the site is still 1.14.30 and the thread is 2 months old.

 

The changelog I received during the update matches the C80 V2 features (L2TP/IPsec VPN server, EasyMesh, etc.) which are not advertised features of the C7 V4.

 

I am also experiencing performance issues. Speeds drop to 290 Mbps after every reboot instead of 500-600 Mbps.

 

Was this firmware intended for the C7 V4 or was it sent by mistake?

Hi,

Are you sure your router is an Archer C7 V4 and not perhaps an Archer C6 V4?

I would expect an Archer C7 to not start up at all with the firmware designed for the C80.

Sorry, I checked again and it's actually an Archer C6 V4 EU, not C7 I don't know why I thought it was a C7

Regarding the speed issue, after every reboot my download speed drops from 600+ Mbps to exactly 290 Mbps. A PPPoE reconnect does not fix it every time. Do you think this could be a bug in the new firmware?
