Hi TP-Link Community Team,

I am writing to formally request the implementation of Dual-WAN support for the Archer GE800.

As we know, the GE800 is a flagship gaming router. For pro gamers and streamers, connection redundancy is a critical requirement. I noticed that the Archer BE800 recently received Dual-WAN functionality via a firmware update, and since the GE800 is its gaming counterpart with similar high-end specs, it's only logical that it should also support this feature.

Why this is essential for the GE800:

  • Failover & Redundancy: Gamers and streamers cannot afford a disconnect. Having a secondary WAN (e.g., a 5G backup or a second ISP) is a must-have for a premium device.

  • Hardware Capability: With its dual 10G ports and multiple 2.5G ports, the GE800 has the perfect hardware layout to support Load Balancing or Failover.

  • Parity with BE800: Since the BE800 now has this feature, GE800 users are eagerly waiting for the same level of software support for their high-performance gaming setups.

I believe adding this would greatly increase the value of the GE800 in the competitive market. Are there any plans to bring the Dual-WAN feature to the GE800 in an upcoming firmware release?

Looking forward to your feedback.

Best regards,

Gabriel Victor

Would love this feature because then I can use my 5G Router as a fallback modem

Hello @GabrielVictor  & @RapheRaph ,

Thanks for reaching out and for your detailed feedback regarding Dual-WAN support for the Archer GE800. I understand that you're requesting the implementation of Dual-WAN functionality (failover and load balancing) on the GE800, especially given that the BE800 recently received this feature and the GE800's hardware capabilities would support it.

Feature requests like yours are valuable feedback for our product development team. While I cannot provide information about future firmware updates or feature implementations, I'll log this feature request and pass it along to the team.

If you have any other questions about your GE800's current capabilities or configuration options, please feel free to let me know.
