Model: Archer BE9300
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.3 Build 20260127 rel.53303(4555)

I recently purchased a TP-LINK Archer router as I upgraded to a two gigabit line and the ISP provided technicolor is not very good.

Anyway, since installing the Archer, my partners iPhone has had nothing but connectivity issues. It regularly disconnects, buffers on YouTube and TikTiok and is generally unusable. We never had this issue with the technicolor, so obviously fingers are being pointed at the router.

I have tried the following so far:

- Split the 2.4, 5 and 6GHZ networks onto their own SSIDs.

- Disabled smart connect

- OFDMA/MU-MIMO is enabled

- Fixed the IP of the iPhone on the router

- Set the iPhone as a High Priority device

- Disabled MAC anonymisation on the iPhone

- Ensured the device is up to date

- Ensured the iPhone is up to date

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue and is there a way to fix this? Every other device (including another iPhone) work fine

Hello @Gbates98 ,

Welcome to our community.

May I know the model and operating system of the iPhone?

Comparing the wireless connection settings of your two iPhones, based on your statement that the other iPhone can stably use the router's network.

Here are some suggestions that may help:

Wi-Fi Channel Optimization:
1. Log in to the web interface of the router (http://tplinkwifi.net)
2. Go to Advanced > Wireless > Wireless Settings
3. Try different Wi-Fi channels to avoid nearby interference • this is especially important and can make a significant difference
4. For the 2.4GHz network, set the channel width to 20MHz
5. For the 5GHz network, set the channel width to 80MHz or 40MHz to avoid interference

Check Parental Controls:
Make sure the iPhone is not included in any Parental Control profiles, as this could cause connection issues.

Firmware Update:
Log into the web interface and go to Advanced > System > Firmware Update to ensure your router firmware is up to date.

Try Disabling OFDMA/MU-MIMO:
While you mentioned these are currently enabled, sometimes disabling them can improve compatibility with certain devices, particularly iPhones.

@Gbates98 Not the exact same, but for some reason an Android tablet (Lenovo) has the exact same problems as your iPhone. I was not able to solve it. Very low connection rates.

Re:TP Link Archer BE9300 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Router - issue with iPhone
Yesterday

  @Gbates98

Hi,

I am experiencing intermittent Wi-Fi disconnections with my TP-Link BE550 router, specifically on my MacBook pro M4 and iPhone 15 Pro.

The issue happens randomly, the Wi-Fi network seems to disappear for a few seconds, the devices disconnect, and then the SSID appears again and reconnects automatically. It does not look like an internet/PPPoE issue because the router uptime remains stable and the WAN connection stays connected.

Dont have any IPTV on my ISP provider just internet.

Current wireless settings:

- Smart Connect: OFF
- 2.4 GHz: Enabled
  - WPA2/WPA3 Mixed
  - Channel 6
  - 20 MHz
  - Transmit Power: Low (small apartment)
- 5 GHz: Enabled
  - WPA3-Personal
  - Channel 44
  - 20/40/80 MHz
  - Mode: 802.11a/n/ac/ax/be mixed
  - Transmit Power: Middle
- 6 GHz: Enabled
  - WPA3-Personal
  - 20/40/80/160 MHz
  - Enable PSC: ON
- TWT: Enabled
- OFDMA/MU-MIMO: Enabled
- Router mode: Wi-Fi 7 / BE mixed

The problem mainly affects Apple devices (macOS and iPhone). During the issue, the Wi-Fi network temporarily disappears from the device and then reconnects automatically.

Could this be related to:

- WPA3-only mode,
- 6 GHz,
- TWT,
- Wi-Fi 7/BE compatibility,
- or a firmware issue with Apple devices?

My current firmware is 1.2.3 Build 20260127 rel.53303(5553) and Archer BE550 v1.0

Thanks.

Hello @cbotso ,

Welcome to our community.

May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:

ISP modem—Archer BE550)))((( client devices

(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )

Have you tested Non-Apple wireless clients for comparison? And do you remember when the problem started?

If possible, would you mind downgrading the firmware back to 1.2.1 for comparison?

The tech team has been made aware of your case; they will likely reach out to you via email to continue troubleshooting. Please check your email inbox and confirm.
