Firmware Version: 1.1.0 3.0.0 v60f2.0 Build 251028 Rel.63807n

Hi everyone,

I am experiencing a frustrating speed issue with my Archer NX200 Outdoor. While the Wi-Fi performance is excellent, the wired connection seems to be heavily throttled.

The Issue:

Wi-Fi Speed: I consistently get between 150 Mbps and 200 Mbps.

Ethernet Speed: When connected via LAN (through the PoE injector), the speed never exceeds 40-50 Mbps.

Important Technical Details:

Link Speed: I have verified that the Ethernet port is correctly negotiating at 1 Gbps (Gigabit). Both my PC network card and my secondary router confirm a 1000 Mbps link status.

Tests Performed: I have tested the connection by plugging the LAN cable directly into a PC and also into a main router for management. In both cases, the link is Gigabit, but the actual throughput is capped at 40-50 Mbps.

Cables: I am using high-quality cables (Cat5e/6).

Since the hardware link is confirmed at 1 Gbps, it doesn't seem to be a cable or port negotiation issue. It feels like an internal bottleneck or a firmware setting that is limiting the data transfer from the 5G/4G modem to the Ethernet port.

Has anyone else experienced this "cap" on the NX200 Outdoor? Are there any MTU settings or Bandwidth Control options that I should check in the web interface?

Thanks in advance for your support!

Hello @Andrea85 ,

Welcome to our community.

In your case, here are some troubleshooting Steps that can help:
1. Check SIM Card Performance: Remove the SIM card and test it in another compatible 4G/5G device (such as a smartphone) to rule out problems with the SIM card itself.
2. Verify Signal Strength: Ensure the router is located in an open area, preferably near a window, and that the signal strength is at least 2 bars (75% or higher).
3. Update Firmware: Ensure your router's firmware is updated to the latest version.
4. Optimize Network Settings:
   • Log into the router's web interface at http://tplinkmodem.net
   • Go to Advanced > Network > Internet and set Network Mode to "4G Only" (or "5G Only" if applicable)
   • Try selecting different 4G/5G bands manually instead of "Auto"
   • Contact your ISP to get another available APN and manually create a new APN profile
5. Check QoS Settings: Navigate to Advanced > QoS > Settings and verify if QoS is enabled. Note that the Archer NX200 has hardware limitations regarding download bandwidth control. If QoS is enabled, try disabling it to see if it affects wired performance.
6. Test PoE Injector: Since you're using a PoE injector, try testing with a different PoE injector if available, as the injector itself could potentially be a bottleneck.

To help you efficiently, I've forwarded your case to the TP-Link support engineers, who will reach out to you using your registered email address later. Please keep an eye on your email inbox for follow-up.

Best Regards.

I had a similar issue with my NX200 Outdoor where LAN speeds were much lower than Wi-Fi. I used DeviceXA to run some quick network tests in the browser, which helped me confirm the bottleneck wasn’t the cables or PC. It turned out to be a firmware-related limitation and some default bandwidth settings that were enabled. Checking QoS or bandwidth control options, updating the firmware, or resetting the device helped improve the Ethernet performance for me.
