Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hi,

I am currently using the TP-Link XX530v AX3000 XPON router.

I am planning to purchase the TP-Link RE505X Wi-Fi 6 range extender, but I would like to confirm compatibility before buying.

I noticed that there are different hardware versions of RE505X (V1 and V2), so I would like to confirm the following:

  1. Does the XX530v router support EasyMesh?

  2. Will RE505X V1 work with the XX530v using EasyMesh?

  3. Will RE505X V2 work with the XX530v using EasyMesh?

  4. Can two RE505X extenders be connected to the XX530v to extend Wi-Fi coverage across the ground floor and first floor?

  5. Will the router and extenders maintain the same SSID with seamless roaming?

My internet speed is 100 Mbps, and I want to improve Wi-Fi coverage in some rooms where the signal is weak.

Thank you.

Hello @Anbu ,

For information on the XX530v router's EasyMesh support, see https://service-provider.tp-link.com/gpon/xx530v/. Yes, it is an EasyMesh-compatible PON router.

For the RE505X extenders (both V1 and V2), you can verify their EasyMesh support on the same product list page under the range extenders section: TP-Link EasyMesh Devices for Home. So, the RE505X v2 supports EasyMesh.

Once you've confirmed that all your devices support EasyMesh, you can set up the extenders by following this guide: How to add an extender to an EasyMesh network as a satellite device.
