We have just been supplied one of these for our new 2GBPS broadband connection.

The issue we seem to have is that the wired ethernet speed using speedtest.net is half the speed than if the same laptop is connected via wifi.

The laptop is connected with a short cat6 cable into the 2.5GBPS post on the router (obviously we only expect to get 1GBPS as this is the max speed of the ethernet port on the laptop but we only get around 500mbps download/upload using speedtest.net.

If we disconnected the laptop from the ethernet cable and connect using wifi instead the download/upload results on speedtest.net are in excess of 1.3GBPS each way.

We are using the same server on speedtest.net to run the test.

Any ideas as to what could be slowing the ethernet ports down ?
