Model: TD-W9960v
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.8.0 0.8.0 v00a0.0 Build 230427 Rel.26754n

Hi, the option "Auto disconnect and reconnect at(HH:MM)" for PPPoE connections under "Advanced >> Network >> Internet >> Add" doesn't work.

The router's system time is correct but there is no disconnect and reconnect at all.

Might this be a firmware bug?

BTW: When a third party call is prompted the callers phone number doesn't show up on the display of a phone connected via TAE. Is there a way to get that working?

Thanks for help.

Hello @Sir_Vival,

Welcome to our community.

Here is a firmware that may help: TD-W9960vV1_1.9.0_0.8.0_up_boot(241219)

Manually updating the firmware, please refer to How to upgrade firmware of TP-Link xDSL Modem Router.

Best Regards.

Hello, the firmware update obviously failed. All lights of the router are off. It seems to be bricked.

Is there a way to recover?

Hello @Sir_Vival ,

Please try:

  • Plug the modem router into a different electrical outlet.
  • Use a different power adapter.

If it doesn't help, perform a factory reset: Use a pin to press and hold the reset button for about 6–10 seconds until the lights briefly turn on, then release and allow the device to reboot.

For further assistance, please contact local support.

Yeah, that does is like a firmware-related bug, especially if your system time is already correct sometimes those scheduled tasks just don’t trigger properly on certain builds. A firmware update or even a downgrade might help. Kinda reminds me of following a recipe for jamaican rum cake if one step doesn’t execute right, the whole result feels off.
