easy mesh and one mesh connectivity
Hi,
I have a TP-Link Archer C80 and a TP-Link Archer VR400 V3.
The Archer C80 supports EasyMesh, and the Archer VR400 V3 supports OneMesh. According to the documentation, these technologies should be compatible or able to work together.
However, when I start the EasyMesh setup wizard on the Archer C80, it does not detect the Archer VR400 at all.
Can you clarify why they are not connecting, and whether EasyMesh and OneMesh are actually compatible in this scenario?

Read this blog for start.
Onemesh is a TP-Link proprietary technology and that's why it's not compatible with the Easymesh standard.
However, you have a chance to make them work together - this can be achieved by using Onemesh device as a main router and Easymesh device as a satellite.
This can be done by the WPS method only. Keep in mind that Easymesh device should be reset to its factory defaults before you star the procedure (Method 1).

Hello @Qball17 ,
As terziyski mentioned, Onemesh is a TP-Link proprietary technology and that's why it's not compatible with the Easymesh standard.
Hi @terziyski ,
As I know, in certain combinations, such as EasyMesh Router + OneMesh Range Extender, a mesh network can be formed.
A OneMesh network is formed by Router + Range Extender/Powerline Adapter. Two OneMesh routers cannot form a mesh network. Similarly, EasyMesh Router + OneMesh Router cannot directly form a mesh network. Therefore, theoretically, C80 + VR400 should not be able to build a mesh network.
Have you created a mesh network using EasyMesh Router + OneMesh Router?

Hi Joseph,
Many users already have successfully created a mesh network between a Onemesh capable main router and an Easymesh satellite router - check this post for details. This work only if you use the WPS method to add the satellite router.
However, this doesn't work the other way round - Easymesh main router with a Onemesh satellite router.

Hello @terziyski ,
Thank you for sharing. It seems that some users have indeed successfully built a mesh network using the OneMesh Main router and EasyMesh router.
However, this hasn't been fully verified for stability yet. I will report this to the engineers for further verification.
If using existing equipment, this combination might be worth trying. However, a completely successful setup cannot be guaranteed.
For consultations before purchasing products, to ensure stability and reliability, we recommend using devices that use the same Mesh networking protocol.
