Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.4.0 3.0.0 v60c8.0 Build 260307 RC.19521n

Hello,

I have an external fiber optic modem from my provider and I am using my Archer NX600 as the router.

This week I bought a Archer AX55 to extend the WIFI of my NX600 with "EasyMesh".

The problem is that even if my NX600 finds the AX55 in the easy-mesh page and says that the connection

was successful it still doesn't show the router in the list.

The AX55 Firmware and Version:

1.5.10 Build 20251119 rel.50509(4555)
Archer AX55 v1.0

So what I tried:

A:

1. Resetted the AX55

2. Used NX600 UI to pair it via "Add Mesh Device" and "Add by Scanning"

3. As I said the UI finds the router and shows that everything was successful, but the AX55 doesn't switch to satelite mode

B:

1. Resetted the AX55

2. Used NX600 UI to pair it via "Add Mesh Device" and "Add by Pressing the WPS Button"

3. The AX55 power LED flashes two times and the NX600 UI says, that the pairing was sucessful

C:

1. Resetted the AX55

2. Connected the routers with a lan cable by using the WAN port on the AX55

3. Used NX600 UI to pair it via "Add Mesh Device" and "Add by Scanning"

4. Same result as in A.3

  • I tried it also by setting the AX55 manually to satellite mode.
  • I disabled the guest WLAN
  • My 2.4GHz and 5GHz WLANs have different SSIDs
  • I changed the channel and channel width on the 5GHz WLAN

-> same result, no pairing between the routers.

The funniest thing was that I already had the satellite mode on the AX55, but after having internet issues, which I thought came because of the easy-mesh connection,

I resetted everything again and updated the firmware of my NX600. After this update the pairing didn't work anymore.

Kind Regards

Max

Hello @Max89 ,

Welcome to our community.

The configuration process may seem smooth, but there are actually some anomalies. Please try the LAN port of Archer AX55, not the WAN port, for EasyMesh Network configuration. You can refer to How to Build an Ethernet Backhaul Using Two EasyMesh Routers

Have you enabled Multi-SSID on NX600? If yes, please temporarily disable it. May I know if you've tried setting the Archer AX55 as the main router?

Hello  @Joseph-TP,

thank you for your response.

No I didn't try the AX55 as the main router, I thought that the NX600 can't switch to satellite mode and actually I want to keep my NX600 as the main router.

So even if it would work in the different direction, this is not my target setup.

I tried it again with enabled "Band Steering" on NX600. I also disabled the guest WLAN.

The result is the same as before. The AX55 doesn't pair as a mesh device with my NX600. The internet LED on the AX55 doesn't flash at all.

Kind Regards

Max

Hello  @Joseph-TP,

I just tested it with the wired connection using a LAN port and the ax55 switched to satellite mode.

But as soon as I remove the cable the AX55 doesn't reconnect via WLAN and the internet LED

is blinking orange

Kind Regards

Max
