Model: Deco X55
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I need to create two networks in a church building and I am hoping to use decos to everthing but i dont know if it will work. Currently for the normal network i have an ethernet cable coming from the modem (service is spectrum and chose to not get there router rental because decos can act as the router). What i want to do is create another network for my digital sound board and i would like to have wife on that network as well. I am wondering if there is a way to ethernet from one deco to a second one and on that second deco create a network of its own! i am not very smart in the networking world so neet some help...I will say i am going to be adding a poe switch between the modem and the decos becuase i am wiring all the mesh decos and i have cameras that need powered anyway so the cameras will go in that switch as well! any help would be appreciated. What are my options...do i need to buy a router?

Would putting this TP-Link ER605 as my router solve my issue?

Sorry for the late reply.

About creating two networks:
When you connect Deco units together via Ethernet (which is called Ethernet Backhaul), they all work together as one unified mesh network • they don't create separate independent networks. The Ethernet connection actually makes them work more closely together, increasing throughput and optimizing stability, but all Deco units in the mesh share the same network.

Your solution • Secondary Networks:
However, Deco does offer a way to create a second network for your sound board! You can use either:
1. IoT Network feature (if your Deco model supports it): Go to Deco App > MORE > IoT network, and enable it. This creates a separate network name specifically designed for dedicated devices.
2. Guest Network feature: Go to Deco App > MORE > Guest network. This creates a separate network that can be used for your sound board equipment.

Both options will give you two distinct network names • your main network and a second network for the sound board.

Need help with the Deco app, setup, Ethernet backhaul, network switch or rolling back firmware? Router or AP mode? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/699816?page=1
