I have 3 units of TP-Link Deco X20 Mesh.

My internet speed is 1 Gbps over fiber.

Since I configured one of the units as a PPPoE client, I have been experiencing brief internet disconnections — lasting a few seconds, after which the connection automatically returns.

Important notes:

I replaced the fiber adapter (ONT), yet the issue persists.

The disconnections occur randomly (approximately once per day).

My ISP claims that the problem is due to my personal equipment.

I would like to understand: Is there any known instability of the X20 model when working with a PPPoE client? And is the X50 model more stable than the X20?

Hi,
There is no known instability of the Deco X20 model when working as a PPPoE client. Based on the information provided, switching to Deco X50 may not help with the disconnect phenomenon.

Usually, if the main Deco has an unstable connection, you can refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot.
Fix Deco Disconnecting and Internet Instability Issues

If the same phenomenon persists, please confirm the following information.
  1. When did you buy the Deco X20? When did the disconnect phenomenon start?
  2. How does the LED status on the main Deco change when the disconnect phenomenon occurs?
  3. How many client devices are connected to the Deco network?
  4. If you have another router that can connect to your fiber adapter and be configured as a PPPoE client, please test if it will work fine.

Best Regards
