Hello, I am experiencing an aggressive switching of bands in my router in my Samsung phone
I have enabled smart connect to merge two bands
But in a room where 5GHz bands RSSI is -62. It is aggressively switching between bands and connection is dropping.
Can anyone help me how to fix this

  @Kavy ,

Welcome to our community.

May I know what model of your Samsung phone is? How about the wireless connection of other clients?

Please Disable Smart Connect on the router, and manually connect your Samsung phone to the 5GHz network. Then check if the connection will be stable.

If you'd like to keep Smart Connect enabled, try these troubleshooting steps:

1. Router Placement: Make sure the router is properly placed in an open area instead of inside a cabinet or shelf to improve signal strength throughout your home.
2. Change Wi-Fi Channels: Log into the web interface and go to Advanced > Wireless > Wireless Settings. Try different Wi-Fi channels to avoid nearby interference. For 2.4GHz, set the channel width to 20MHz. For 5GHz, set the channel width to 80MHz or 40MHz to avoid interference.
3. Update Firmware: Go to Advanced > System > Firmware Update and make sure the router firmware is up to date.
4. Update Phone: Ensure your Samsung phone's system and network drivers are up to date, as this can affect how it responds to band steering.
