X95 Ethernet port failure
X95 Ethernet port failure
Hi all,
Had my X95s for about three years. Noticed that one of the Ethernet ports has stopped working (top, 1ghz). Has anyone come across this? I discovered it when attempting to change my mode from access to router as I have switched internet providers. Now gone back to access and hit the reset button on the bottom of the units. No luck.

it still might be under warranty do you know where you bought it and the date of purchase?

Warranty policies typically vary by product line, region, and purchase location, so I'd recommend checking the warranty information on the official TP-Link website or the documentation that came with your product so I would double check just in case.

Thanks. They checked and I'm out of luck unfortunately. Guess I'll just have to live with the dead port.

Hi,
Could you please describe in detail how you tested that this Ethernet port is not working? We can then see if there are any other steps we can take.
Typically, it's recommended to contact the local support team to check whether your product is under warranty. If it's confirmed that the product is out of warranty, but you need more LAN ports for client devices to connect, you may purchase a switch as per your requirements.
Best Regards

I have been in touch with support and they refuse to help as the unit is 3 months out of warranty.

@Sledge73 I have the same issue with the X68 main unit and it started after a power outage at the beginning of the month. I spent a lot of time troubleshooting and almost gave up after a few weeks. But then on the weekend it just started working, a power outage last night caused the issue again. Today it took me a few hours but everything is up and running again, it seems to be a software/firmware related bug as the issue only effects the main unit role not the physical unit. The way I got it to work is power off everything and disconnect any LAN ports, then follow this order, confirming each step is complete. 1. Power on the ISP NTD, 2. Power on the main unit, 3. Power on the satellites, 4. Plug in LAN cables. Not ideal and your issue might be different but my issue isn't resolved by resetting either so maybe that helps.

Same here, all of a sudden I had to use the 2.5ghz port for modem and middle 1ghz port for switch. The top stopped giving me a connection. I swapped my satellite x95 to the main one and the same happened so I dont think it's hardware.
