When trying to set up network deco repeatedly bricks
Everything was working fine until I tried to connect a new router however it wasn't configured for One NZ so I returned to my old router. Now deco won't connect. I reset, it flashes blue then returns to solid red while going through connection process.

Hi,
You can refer to the following instructions to troubleshoot if you fail to set up the main Deco.
Main Deco Failed to Complete Setup
If the same phenomenon persists, please provide the following information.
1. Please disconnect the main Deco from the front modem/router, connect the same Ethernet cable from the modem/router to a PC, do you have internet on the PC? If so, what's the PC's IP address?
How to find the IP address on your devices
2. When configuring the main Deco, what Internet Connection Types did you select, Dynamic IP or PPPoE?
3. What error message appears in the Deco app when configuring the main Deco?
Best Regards

@Solla-topee thanks for your reply
I had already been through the first set of instructions in your first link a few times, but no joy.
1. IP address of computer is 192.168.1.7 and IP address of router is 192.168.1.1
2. I connected to Dynamic IP
3. When the Deco is creating the network the Deco turns solid red and then the Error message in the app is "Failed to connect to Deco's Wi-Fi". It offers 3 solutions but none have helped.
Feeling a bit desperate now as I'm sure I'm doing something wrong in the process ie wrong network name and password... any help appreciated.

While you wait for @solla-topee see if any of the following help
This solid red light during setup indicates that the Deco is having trouble connecting to the internet.
Before Setup:
• Ensure that only one Deco unit is powered on
• The LED on the main Deco should be flashing blue
• The main Deco is connected to your router with a working Ethernet cable
• Turn off any VPN applications on your phone/tablet
Troubleshooting Steps:
1. Check the error message on the Deco app • this will help identify the specific issue:
• "We couldn't find Deco" • Make sure your phone is connected to the Deco's default setup network (Deco_XXXX)
• "Ethernet Cable is Not Connected" • Replace the Ethernet cable or try a different Ethernet port on the Deco
• "Failed to create Wi-Fi network" • Force quit the Deco app and try again
• "No Internet connection" • This is likely your issue
2. For "No Internet connection" error:
• Confirm your Internet connection type with One NZ (your ISP): Is it "DHCP/Dynamic IP" or "PPPoE"? Does your ISP require a VLAN?
• Connect a PC directly to your router to verify internet is working
• If the PC has Internet access but the Deco does not, try performing a MAC Clone on the Deco by following this guide: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2925/ (Clone the MAC address of your PC's Ethernet adapter)
3. Additional checks:
• Replace the Ethernet cable between your router and the Deco
• Try a different Ethernet port on the Deco
